Side pockets or nets. These are wonderful for a water bottle or thermos. It is amazing how easily these will leek all over a backpack if they fall over inside the main compartment or lunchbox.
Backpacks
I have learned a lot about backpacks over the years. Two things are most important. Please take these into consideration before purchasing your child's backpack.
Front pockets make backpacks more useful. They are great for keeping those extra clothes. Those clothes seem to creep out of the backpack if they are left in the main compartment.
